What questions cannot be asked during a job interview?
An employer cannot ask any questions regarding a potential employee’s protected characteristics. Those characteristics currently in the state of Florida, are one’s race, color, religion, marital status, sex, national origin, age, or disability. There are some local counties who have now broadened the meaning to encompass gender preference and sexual orientation. As an employer, I would recommend staying away from any questions dealing with any of the protected characteristics, or else you could be at risk of a lawsuit.
